Kym Kares Independent Living Program is the Charlotte, North Carolina–based housing program created to support young adults as they transition into independent adulthood.


We recognize that the journey into adulthood looks different for everyone. Some young adults may be transitioning out of foster care, leaving an unstable living situation, beginning employment or higher education, or simply needing additional structure and support while learning how to live independently.


At Kym Kares, we provide a safe, structured, comfortable, and supportive living environment where young adults can develop the skills, confidence, responsibility, and stability needed to successfully navigate adulthood.

Kym Kares is designed for young adults transitioning into adulthood who are ready to work toward greater independence and stability.


This may include young adults transitioning from foster care, young adults experiencing housing instability, and others who would benefit from a structured and supportive environment while preparing for independent living.
